You should not have to put your health on hold, or fight the language barrier, just because you are living in Spain. Longevity Marbella provides private, specialist-led prescriptions and continuity of care to expats anywhere in Spain, by secure video, in English or Dutch, after a proper consultation.
This is not a faceless online form that issues a script to anyone who ticks a box. Every prescription is reviewed and issued by a doctor double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, who looks at your history and your reason for the medication first. It is concierge medicine, held to the same standard our long-term patients receive, delivered wherever you happen to be.
Wherever you are in Spain
Because consultations are by secure video, your location is not a barrier. We look after British, Irish, Dutch, Scandinavian, German and other international expats right across the country, from Marbella, Estepona and Sotogrande on the Costa del Sol, to Alicante, Valencia, Jávea, Moraira, Dénia and Altea on the Costa Blanca, the Balearics (Mallorca and Ibiza), the Canary Islands, Sitges and the Costa Brava, and the cities of Madrid and Barcelona. Discreet concierge home visits are available on the Costa del Sol; everywhere else in Spain, care is by private video. Consultations are conducted in English or Dutch.
In your language, without the public-system maze
For most expats the hardest part is not the medicine, it is explaining yourself in Spanish at a busy health center and hoping nothing is lost in translation. Here you speak directly with a specialist in English or Dutch, who understands your history and continues your treatment properly. No queue, no interpreter, no guesswork.
Common situations we help with
You left your medication at home. It is one of the most common reasons expats get in touch: the suitcase made it, the pills stayed on the kitchen counter. Bring what you have, a photo of the box, a repeat slip, a note from your pharmacy, and the specialist will review it with you on a video call. Where it is clinically appropriate, you receive a private prescription you can fill at a local pharmacy, often the same day.
You have run out during a longer stay. Prescriptions from home rarely stretch as far as the stay does. Rather than rationing doses or cutting the trip short, have your treatment reviewed and, where appropriate, continued here, so your thyroid tablet, blood pressure medication or hormone therapy is not interrupted halfway through.
You live here, or between two countries, and want your treatment looked after properly. Care should not fall into the gap between your doctor at home and a health system you do not know. The specialist reviews your history and your current medication, keeps what works running, and stays available as your doctor in Spain, in your own language.
Hormonal and endocrine prescriptions
This is where a specialist genuinely matters. A prescription for hormone therapy, thyroid medication, or a hormonal treatment used for a medical condition should be handled by someone who understands the whole picture, not issued blindly. If you are already established on treatment, we can review it and, where appropriate, continue it. Related care includes HRT and menopause and testosterone replacement therapy.
Everyday prescriptions while you are in Spain
Beyond hormones, many routine, non-controlled medications that come up in general medical care can be continued after consultation, for example thyroid, blood pressure or cholesterol treatment. Some medications require prior records or tests before they can be issued, and we will tell you clearly and quickly what is possible in your case.
How it works
- A short private video consultation, wherever you are in Spain.
- A review of your history and your reason for the medication, with any records you can share.
- A private prescription where appropriate, issued on clinical judgment, that can be filled at a pharmacy.
- Continuity if you need it, so your treatment carries on smoothly.
What we will and will not do
Being clear about this is part of doing it properly. Prescriptions are always issued after a consultation and at the physician's clinical discretion, never automatically. We do not provide on-demand prescriptions for controlled or high-risk medications, and some treatments cannot be issued without prior records or assessment. If something is not appropriate to prescribe, we will say so and, where we can, point you to the right care.
On the Costa del Sol, or want more than a prescription?
If you are local, see private prescriptions in Marbella and the Costa del Sol, where in-person and concierge home visits are also available. If you are looking for an English- or Dutch-speaking doctor for consultations and ongoing care, not only a prescription, see our English- and Dutch-speaking doctor for expats in Spain.
What long-term patients add. Prescriptions keep a treatment running; the annual Body Composition Assessment tells you whether it has earned another year. Muscle, visceral fat and thyroid, measured on the same instruments year after year, is continuity of care in its most literal form.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you prescribe if I live outside the Costa del Sol?
Yes. Consultations are by secure video, so we can help expats anywhere in Spain after a proper consultation, where it is clinically appropriate. It is never automatic.
Is this for tourists or residents?
Both. Expat residents and visitors across Spain who want private, English- or Dutch-speaking care and continuity of their medication without navigating the public system.
What languages do you work in?
English and Dutch, so you can explain your history and your medication clearly in your own language.
What can and cannot be prescribed?
Continuity of established treatments such as hormonal therapy, thyroid, blood pressure or cholesterol medication, hormonal and endocrine prescriptions, and many everyday medications. Some treatments require prior records or tests, and we do not provide on-demand prescriptions for controlled or high-risk medications.
Can you continue a medication my doctor prescribed at home?
Often yes. Share your details and current prescription, and where it is safe and appropriate we can continue it so your treatment is not interrupted while you are in Spain.
